Dr. Michael Addaney

Lecturer in Environmental Policy and Planning, University of Energy and Natural Resources, Ghana

Dr. Michael Addaney is a Lecturer, Researcher and Postgraduate Studies Coordinator at the Department of Geography and Sustainability Science of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani, Ghana.

Michael is a research fellow of the Earth Systems Governance at Utrecht University in The Netherlands, and a fellow of the Africa Science Leadership Programme of the Future Africa Institute at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Development Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a Master’s degree in Strategic (spatial) Planning and Management from the University for Development Studies, both in Ghana. He also obtained an MPhil in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and a PhD in Environment and Natural Resources Law from Wuhan University, China.

More broadly, Michael’s research interests include the social and human dimensions of global environmental change; environmental pollution and human health risks; and climate change interventions and socio-ecological systems in developing societies in Africa.
