Naomi Kioi

Naomi Kioi is an impact driven professional with 11+ years of experience, majority of which has been spent promoting clean energy access across rural Africa and Asia.

In the last decade, Naomi has been a part of the team that established the largest solar home system company in the off-grid energy sector – Sun King (formerly Greenlight Planet) – whose primary mission is powering access to brighter lives by designing, distributing and financing decentralised solar power, for off-grid, and under electrified homes, across
Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

She has spent the last eight years creating strategies to drive energy access and create pathways for net zero carbon emissions across Africa and Asia by scaling business operations into eight markets and financing over four million solar clients, serviced through a network of over 300 branches, and 15,000 field sales agents, who educate new clients, install systems, and provide ongoing service, and payment collections support.

Naomi has also been instrumental in setting up over 30+ strategic partnerships with leading organisations in different sectors i.e., telecommunications, agri-business, microfinance, governments, and many more to grow the ecosystem and drive energy access across Africa and Asia. She is also the GOGLA policy global chair, an industry body with an aim to create a conducive business and regulatory environment for solar businesses in Africa and Asia.

Naomi is currently the General Manager – Global Marketing and Digital Business at Sun King and a member of the global leadership team. She holds an MBA from IE Business School, Spain and a Bachelor of International Business Administration from United States International University Africa.
