Where can development finance institutions invest to have the most impact?

Tuesday 16 November 2021 – 1:00pm to 2:15pm

Development finance institutions (DFIs) are expected to play a key role in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Paris Agreement. Where should DFIs invest to maximise their contribution to these global goals?

Ahead of the launch of the British International Investment’s new five-year strategy next month, ODI and British International Investment will convene development finance actors both in person and virtually to explore this question. Alongside British International Investment, we will hear from DFIs and others on the opportunities and challenges in maximising impact.

The event will draw on the findings from our recently published paper on The economics of development finance authored by Paddy Carter, Director of Development Impact Research and policy at British International Investment.
