Understanding where and how jobs are created – particularly indirectly – is highly complex. Throughout the year we have collaborated with fellow development finance institutions (DFIs) to share knowledge of and enhance our joint understanding of how – and in what contexts – our investments create jobs across Africa and South Asia.
The resulting Joint Impact Model (JIM), to be launched in 2020, will be a new open access model for calculating and reporting on indirect impacts such as value added and greenhouse gas emissions. The project is a collaboration between the African Development Bank, BIO, CDC Group, FinDev Canada, FMO and Proparco with Steward RedQueen. The collaboration has required each organisation to give full access to proprietary approaches developed, share learnings and create a publicly available good open to all impact investors.
To raise awareness of this tool within the impact investing community and beyond we are hosting a webinar about JIM, alongside FMO, Proparco amd Steward Redqueen, on Wednesday 27 of November at 2pm (GMT). We are delighted to be joined by Amit Bouri, CEO and co-founder of the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) to introduce the webinar.
