CDC and DEG produce guidance on managing legacy land issues

CDC and DEG have published a guidance note on managing legacy land issues in agribusiness investments. These situations occur when the original  land titles of a concession are  unclear, and compensation arrangements for communities whose livelihoods were affected are uncertain or contested.

With land legacy issues becoming more common, the guidance, developed by the sustainability experts of both institutions, aims to support investors and businesses in identifying and addressing them when they do arise. It provides practical advice so companies can ensure agribusiness investments create better livelihoods and economic opportunities for affected communities.
