Nick O’Donohoe took up his position as CDC’s CEO in June this year, arriving from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where he was a Senior Adviser.
In this interview, Nick discusses his career to date and what brought him to CDC. His new role, he says, is ‘one of the great jobs’, as he has institutional investment experience gained from his position as Head of Research at JP Morgan, experience in working with government as CEO of Big Society Capital, and knowledge of international development from his time with the Gates Foundation.
Nick also discusses how CDC will evolve to deliver on the new five-year strategy, ‘Investing to transform lives’, that was launched shortly after he joined, and how we will work to support other organisations investing to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
