We’re pleased to welcome Satish Chavva as our new Head of South Asia for Direct Private Equity. Chavva’s appointment will help enhance our portfolio development and deepen our partnerships with businesses and industry stakeholders across the region.
Based in Mumbai, Chavva joins BII’s SMART Industries team, which covers the broad sectors of Services, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Real Estate and Technology. He will lead the South Asia investment team, help originate new investment opportunities, and work on portfolio management to drive impact and create value across our portfolio companies within the region. Chavva will also provide mentorship and coaching to the team and contribute to the strategic direction of our SMART Private Equity activities.
Satish Chavva brings to BII over 17 years of financial sector experience. He joins us from Oman India Joint Investment Fund (OIJIF) where he was Director of Investments, and prior to this, he was Investment Director at TRG/Citigroup. Chavva started his early career in the IT industry with a Project Manager role for IBM and a previous role as Technical Lead for Trilogy.
He earned an MBA from INSEAD and hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin. He completed a Bachelor of Technology degree at the Indian Institute of Technology.
