Sara Taylor
Director and Head of PE Funds and Co-Investments
Sara joined British International Investment in 2014 and leads the SME Funds team within the Private Equity Funds group. The SME Funds portfolio comprises funds investing in SMEs across sectors in Africa and South Asia, as well as co-investments alongside these funds.
Sara has over 10 years’ experience in impact investing in emerging markets. At British International Investment she previously managed the Catalyst Funds portfolio, backing funds aiming to reach underserved groups as well as funds operating in particularly nascent markets.
Prior to joining British International Investment, Sara was a Principal at Quona Capital, a venture firm investing in financial technology for inclusion across Latin America, Africa and Asia. Sara has also worked for Zoona, a payments company in Zambia. Prior to this, Sara spent 10 years in investment banking and corporate law in the UK (at RBS and Clifford Chance).
Sara holds a BA in PPE from Oxford University, a Graduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law London, and an MA in International Development from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
